The Apple Valley Police Department is partnering with the Rosemount Police Department to offer a Teen Police Academy again this year.
The Teen Academy is aimed at providing youth in Apple Valley and Rosemount an inside look at the operation and services of our police departments. Discussion topics for the seven week course will include Dakota County Drug Task Force, crime scene investigation, use of force (shoot/don't shoot scenarios), SWAT and more in addition to a tour of the Apple Valley Police Department.
Dates for this year's academy are Thursday nights, 6-8 pm starting January 31, 2019 and running until March 14, 2019. Class sessions will be held in both Apple Valley and Rosemount.
The program is free and open to students of high school age currently residing or attending high school in Apple Valley or Rosemount.
