Track out protection is required from construction sites to reduce the amount of sediment getting to our streets by construction equipment and vehicles. The sediment not only pollutes local lakes and ponds when it is washed into stormdrains, but it can also reduce tire traction, causing traffic safety problems. Constructions site managers must ensure that functioning track out controls like rock construction entrances, wash racks or plywood are in place, repair or replace nonfunctioning controls, and clean tracked sediments off streets.
