Now is a great time to assess your yard for gardening projects that improve water quality in local lakes. Is there a part of your yard that you don't use and would like to figure out a more hands off approach to maintaining? Do you have a low wet spot that you are sick of figuring out how to mow? Would you like to attract more birds, butterflies, and pollinators to your yard? A well planned garden may be the answer.

You can learn more about native plant gardens, raingardens, and native plant shoreline stabilizations and their benefits by attending a Blue Thumb Planting for Clean Water Workshop. Attend one of the Introductory Workshops offered throughout the County, and you will also learn about options for technical and financial assistance to install your very own Blue Thumb garden.

Introductory Workshops will be held in Apple Valley on February 19th and April 7th, 2015. Call 651-480-7777 to register.
