The City of Apple Valley 2020 Capital Improvement Program identifies Storm water Improvements at Erickson Park Storm Water Improvements.
Scope of work includes the expansion of the existing infiltration basin (EVR-27) and modification to the existing outlet structure. This basin is located just south of 140 St. W and east of 142nd Path W. A review of this existing infiltration basin (EVR-27) was conducted in October, 2017 and was determined that the basin is currently being underutilized. Expanding this basin has the potential to provide TP reduction as well as reduce the overall stormwater discharge volume reaching Farquar Lake, thereby increasing the water quality in Farquar Lake.
This project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2020 due available grant funds from Clean Water Act (BWSR) and Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization. City staff recommends that the design process begin this summer to allow field surveying and geotechnical work to be completed prior to the winter snow season.
