AVPD Chaplain Program The AVPD Chaplain Program involves volunteer chaplains representing various religious denominations. Police chaplains assist the officers with delicate or sensitive situations, such as calming family crises or assisting officers with death notifications. The chaplains routinely ride along with the patrol officers, participate in ongoing training, and spend numerous hours each month directly involved with the Police Department and the community. The chaplains are committed to serving the citizens and the Police Department during times of crisis. We are grateful for their dedication to the program.
