Exploring is a part of the "Learning for Life" division of the Boy Scouts of America. The program is open to young men and women ages 14-21 who are at least freshmen in high school. This program is designed to expose young adults with an interest in a particular career field a firsthand look at that field, with hands-on experience. There are exploring programs for a variety of career fields, ranging from Archeology to Zoology. Please contact the Boy Scouts of America for general information on Exploring and specific programs available. The Apple Valley Police Department created its Explorer Post in 1989. The Post was designed to expose members to the law enforcement field through training, community service and ride alongs. The Post is for young adults with a strong interest in law enforcement as a potential career, who are good students, and have community respect. Members also have the opportunity to forge new friendships, develop leadership skills, provide service to the community, and prepare for future roles as citizens and community leaders. If
