Community Service Apple Valley Police Explorer Post #571

The explorer members have an opportunity to serve the community and develop interpersonal and career skills through numerous community service projects. Some of these projects include:

• Traffic direction and crowd control at the 4th of July celebration
• Dressing as McGruff at crime prevention and other public relations events
• Assist with National Night Out
• Patrol city parks in an unmarked vehicle
• Provide general assistance to the Police Department and community
  

These projects help youth build character and deal with the public in uniform, emphasizing a courteous and professional attitude.
