ICE SKATING LESSONS
Indoor - Weekdays
Thurs lessons start October 16-November 20 and continue December 4-11
(8 weeks)
Classes Offered: All classes are offered on Thursday mornings at Hayes
Park Arena.

REGISTRATION BEGINS: Thursdays, September 18, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the
Apple Valley Sports Arena. Registration will continue until classes are
filled.
P.A.L.S. - PARENTS AND LITTLE SKATERS
(Ages 3-5)
Lessons: Thursdays, 10:00-10:30 a.m.
Practice: Thursdays, 10:30-11:00 a.m.
$68.00 for 8 weeks
This class is for ages 3-5 with no skating experience. Ideally, we would
like one parent to come on the ice with the child until he/she is confident
to attend independently. This class teaches the adults how to work with
the child on learning ice skating elements positively. The child will
learn basic skating elements including: marching, how to fall down and
get back up, 2-foot glide, backward wiggle, frog hops, table tops, and
forward dips with the end result being the child skating independently.
Helmet required.
BEGINNERS
(Ages 4-7)
Beginners 1 & 2: Thursdays, 9:30-10:00 a.m.
Beginners 3 & 4: Thursdays, 10:30-11:00 a.m.
$70.00 for 8 weeks
This class is for 4-7 year olds that have had little to no skating experience.
This class will progress from P.A.L.S. class as well as add new elements
including forward stroking, one-foot glide, backwards skating, forward
and backward swizzles, and forward crossovers all the way through the
Beginners levels.
PRE-HOCKEY
Lessons: Thursdays, 9:30-10:00 a.m.
Practice: Thursdays, 10:00-10:30 a.m.
$70.00 for 8 weeks
This is for the beginning hockey player all the way through last year
Mites. Skaters are taught elementary skating skills for playing hockey
while focusing on increasing control, speed and refining technique. A
deeper focus will be on edge control, start stops, beginning power stroking,
turns, crossovers and speed. Helmets required.
HOCKEY TEAM CLINIC
Lessons: Thursdays, 10:30-11:00 a.m.
Practice: Thursdays, 10:00-10:30 a.m.
$70.00 for 8 weeks
This class is for the beginning hockey player through the Mite level.
Full hockey gear is encouraged and sticks are required. The first 15 minutes
of class will focus on skills and the second 15 minutes of class will
be mini hockey games. Skills included are: skating, passing, shooting,
control, speed and strength.
