National Flood Insurance Program The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the City of Apple Valley for eligibility for the National Flood Insurance Program. This program enables property owners to purchase insurance protection against losses from flooding. Effective May 1, 2008, the City of Apple Valley's participation status went from the Emergency Phase to the Regular Phase of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The City is a No Special Flood Hazard Area (NSFHA) community. The Federal Emergency Management Agency does not intend to publish a Flood Hazard Boundary Map (FHBM) or a Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) at this time. Therefore, for insurance application and rating purposes, please note that there is no map suffix and no Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) have been identified. The status change from the Emergency Phase to the Regular Phase of the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) affords additional limits of insurance
coverage. Please call the NFIP Call Center, toll-free, at (800) 427-4661,
for more details. For more information on the NFIP program >>> FEMA Region V Office NFIP Region V Office Minnesota Dept. of Natural Resources
