• First identified in Detroit, Michigan in 2002, present 10 years prior to detection

• Now found in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, Illinois, and Ontario, Canada, (Maryland site may be eradicated)

• Responsible for killing 20 million ash trees

• Attacks all species of ash trees

• Attacks healthy and stressed trees
