City Hall
Apple Valley Municipal Center - 7100 West 147th St, Apple Valley, Minnesota

Current Notes:

Invitation to Contribute to a Healthier Future for Apple Valley! The public is invited to a workshop on the relationship between planning our physical environment and the factors that influence our physical health. This workshop is part of the process of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update. This workshop will further explore and develop policy ideas related to:

  • The importance of walking and biking trails for both commuters and for recreation use.
  • The concept of "complete streets"; designing streets for safe pedestrian, biking, motorist and transit use that creates community wide connection.
  • The increasing role transit plays; influencing where people live and work, shop and recreate, and how they move around.
  • Feedback on the changing demographic: Are we prepared for the growing senior population, remaining in the community with the right choice for living, and keeping existing neighborhoods vital?
The results of this workshop will be used to guide the update of Apple Valley's Comprehensive Plan.

The Planning Workshop will be held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Apple Valley Municipal Center. If there are any questions and to R.S.V.P., please contact Barb Wolff of Apple Valley Planning (952) 953-2574.
