Proximity to MSP International Airport and Air Traffic Over Apple Valley Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is located just 10-15 minutes north of Apple Valley. One of the world's busiest yet safest airports, it ranks among the top US airports for on-time arrivals and is legendary for its ability to handle ice and snow. Service includes more than 1200 takeoffs and landings daily, two foreign flag carriers, eleven regional airlines, eight major US airlines, eighteen charter airlines, sixteen cargo carriers. The Metropolitan Airports Commission's (MAC) opened a new 8,000 foot north-south runway (Runway 17/35) on October 27, 2005. The addition of Runway 17/35 will add 25 percent more capacity at MSP and allow the airport to meet growing demand for air service nationally and internationally.
