Planning Commission The seven-member Planning Commission is established by the City Council as the planning agency for the City. Its members are appointed by the City Council and it advises the Council on planning and land use issues. The Commission discusses and evaluates development and building proposals, conditional use permit applications, variance requests, proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan or zoning map, and related planning issues. The Planning Commission conducts public hearings, when
necessary, and votes on recommendations, which are then sent to the City
Council. Prior to making final decisions on issues, while the City Council
gives great weight to the Planning Commission recommendations, it may
come to a different conclusion than the Commission's recommendation on
a specific issue. Meeting Information Meetings are held at the Apple Valley Municipal Center, 7100 West 147th Street. For more information, please call (952) 953-2500. Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 7 P.M. Meetings are cablecast live and replayed on Channel 16. The City provides live audio and video streaming of Planning Commission meetings. Live Streaming Window >>> Note: window will only contain content during a live meeting.
